) is a hand-crafted wooden cup, carved by Jin Akihiro in sunny Kagoshima from lightweight birch. It is a special collaboration with Beams, one of Japan’s brands who relentlessly supports young craftsmen.

Jin has built on his family’s knowledge of woodworking to become a master at crafting handmade cups and The KiKiSA KiKiLiM is one of his most stripped back; made to be as lightweight as possible for hikers and campers. He takes his inspiration here from the slogan of German architect Mies van der Rohe: “Less is more.” To shave off weight, Jin substituted the handle with a durable piece of cord. The lightweight wood and scalloped design also help shave off precious grams.

This is a cup that can be used for years, and unlike plastic or tin, the wood will slowly weather and darken with oils from coffee or tea, softening as your hands pass over its scalloped surface year-after-year.

Size: Height 9cm, Diameter 6.57
