Fuyu Sara Floating Dish

The Fuyu Sara Floating Dish Collection is the result of highly refined production processes combined with century-old techniques of layering lacquer.

Produced in the famous Yamanaka Region, they are probably the lightest bowls in the world. Despite their fragile look though, they are quite durable due to highly evolved production processes.

The main feature of Yamanaka Lacquerware is the woodturning lathe technique. Lacquerware is created by Yamanaka’s artisans with years of experience: in order to become a professional it takes 7-8 years of experience in each of the following four processes: making wooden bases, priming, coating and lacquer painting.
