People with a basic understanding of Japanese will recognize the play on words in the title: each syllable of sa-shi-su-se-so represents a condiment. Sa is for sato; in this case a rich blend of Japanese raw sugar and molasses. Shi is for shio, domestic sea salt. Su is for su, rice vinegar. Se is for seuyu, soy sauce. So is for so-su, a sweet and savory brown sauce used commonly with tonkatsu, croquettes and other deep-fried delights. Consider this a starter kit for authentic Japanese cuisine.
